August Rush
We missed the sunrise yesterday, but not today. I woke about 5:00 and snoozed on and off until 6:00, but kept looking toward the deck to see the sky and knew there were enough clouds that the sun's arrival would be remarkable, and it was.
I did more work again today on old photos and I'm amazed at the memories they contain. Went down a long rabbit trail looking at photos from years ago and friends who are no longer alive.
It was another naughty hot day. The tempt topped the chart at 99 degrees with lots of big thunder clouds looking mean and nasty, but never saw any lightning nor heard any thunder, but the humidity was definitely higher than usual without a drop of rain, but some of the neighboring communities received a down-pour of rain. Weird weather.
This is the next to last Friday before the fall semester begins -- but who's counting? I meet my first two classes of new students on Tuesday, August 28, and the next group on Thursday, August 30.
Two weeks from today is our grandson Emerson's 21st birthday. If our grandkids would quit having birthdays, we'd stay a lot younger.
This has been a fabulous 17th day of the month and it's opening the door to the weekend. Hope you have a good one.
Good night from Southern California.
