To Sighthill

I tied the mattress in half, smashed the divan bed up, and stuffed the cupboard bits cut in half in the car and went to Sighthill Community Recycling Centre. The charity guys wouldn't take the bed. And the Council wanted a minimum of £26 to pick it up.

Then on to IKEA, M&S, Costa, John Lewis and Sainsburys to redeem my doubled up Nectar points.

The ornamental cherry leaves have been spectacular this autumn. I blipped this one earlier, now bare. But a maple behind it was burning even in the clouded light.

Driving round Wester Hailes out near Sighthill  you get a terrifying sense of how unequal and unjust this world is. Even in Edinburgh. Or especially in Edinburgh.

I got back and made up the desk chair and some IKEA boxes. The Principal flew in later after long and hard days teaching in London.
