South by west
Day 18 following the compass points in sequence from the start point at the crossroads at Glossop Town Centre.
Today took me to a bit of a hidden gem. The entrance gate to the Long Clough Nature Reserve. The reserve lies between the A624 at Chunal and Whiteley Nab (the hill that dominates the view south from most of Glossop).
See the Derbyshire wildlife trust site for more information. It's a great spot for summer migrant birds as well as (I read) over 150 grasses, mosses and lichen.
