Washing Day in Dhobigat

This morning we woke to rain so our early departure for a walk was slightly delayed. Nipped out to the stalls to buy some fruit and enjoyed a rather leisurely breakfast...although Paul made such strong tea it made me sick! Literally!

We left for our walk about half eight and enjoy two hours of stomping through the valley. This photo was taken just a few hundred yards from our home. Today was communal washing and cleaning day. The streets were littered with people weeding and cleaning up the rubbish, whilst the school uniforms of many children were washed and hung out to dry. A beautiful sight.

After our walk and some lunch we took a taxi to Boudnahath to see the stupa. It is such a relaxing place...I took around two hundred photos of people praying, walking, talking and enjoying the immense sun and heat. On the way home I managed to capture a family on their way out...look at the blipfolio for a pic, I can't make the link work at all. It's driving me insane! I really love their sense of safety!!

A meal out tonight in a new restaurant...lovely intentions but a lack of customers means that most things are off the menu. Including potoatoes!

Bed is calling. Sleep well!

PS. Tomorrow...back to DrMacBatts! ;0)
