Water of Leith

Today's the day ................................. for a whodunnit

We met with a very strange sight today as we strolled along the banks of the Water of Leith in the west end of Edinburgh.

Who was the poor unfortunate sod lying in the shallows? What events had led up to his untimely end? Had he suffered and how had he ended up in that particular place? Were there any witnesses - or were they intent on keeping their mouths firmly shut?

And where did the heron fit in to it all ..........................?
