Cramond Island of Punk 2012
Down to Cramond this morning to support the Parkrun, which today aimed for its highest ever turnout to help create the UK's biggest celebration of local sport on the first weekend between the Olympics closing ceremony and the start of the Paralympics. Certainly, if the huge number of enthusiastic runners who turned up at Cramond to support this event was anything to go by, the Super Saturday of Sport will be a great success.
There was also the start of another big event at Cramond this morning - Cramond Island of Punk 2012 - Edinburgh's annual punk festival, which involves walking over to the island at low tide with all the picnic gear to enjoy eight hours of punk music.
This is the last shot taken using my telephoto lens before it finally bit the dust. It hasn't been working quite properly for some time now but today the lens no longer extends. Camera needs a good service as well - how long have I been saying that? - so no more procrastinating, a visit to the camera hospital it is.
Turned into a gorgeous day and went into town with much loved pal to visit a jewellery exhibition. I cannot believe I managed to resist a purchase but pal made up for my thriftiness by buying two pairs of earrings. She's only got one pair of ears so this could be to my advantage as I can borrow the earrings she's not wearing..
