Carnival Atmosphere
Blooming hot day today. Tide in most of the day, so it was 4 o'clock before I could take Emma down to the beach, but an hour or so there was enough for her to find some 'pet' shells and bring them home.
We have just arrived back from watching the carnival procession. They were doing their best, but they just don't seem to be the same as when I was a boy. In those days (sometime just after Victoria came to the throne some say:) ), there would be at least four marching bands, two of which were bound to be in regimental regalia. Now it's all boom boom boom and dance schools. OK there were a couple of brass bands, but they seemed to stop just as they reached where we were standing!
I've blipped a queen from a neighbouring town, but only because she winked at me after I'd taken her photo. ;)
