Sinterklaas arrives in Delfzijl.

Yesterday evening Sinterklaas came to Appingedam, today he arrived in Delfzijl on his steamer, with lots of children on the quayside.

One of the things I remember from when I was a child is that in Delfzijl the "Zwarte Pieten" were real grown up men. Some of them even had beards.
To me those were the real Zwarte Pieten, not those painted little ones...

Today Delfzijl still has grown up Pieten...see the extras. So I wás right: those are real!! :)
