Aspen
A hard frost and bright morning sunshine tempted me out for a riverside walk, where I came across these golden aspen leaves, which I've layered over a texture of birch.
We then went to a bric-a-brac sale at the local church hall, where we bought a few more books and four clip frames for 50p. I'll now have to decide what photographs to print and where to put them! Unfortunately we were too late for cake.
In the afternoon Alex cleaned out our neighbours' small pond (with a bit of help from Pete), a task that was both freezing cold and very muddy. Amazingly he rescued seventeen frogs from the black ooze at the bottom, which have now been placed in the most sheltered of our ponds, where they should happily overwinter.
