not C*******s presents

Chris will not be spending C*******s with us this year.  He’ll be on the other side of the world with Mollymay in Perth and then in Sydney with friends for new year.

So we’ve decided to have a ‘not C*******s’ lunch beforehand and exchange not C*******s presents.  We got these for Chris, Dan and Kelly.  Oh how we laughed when we picked them off the book shop shelves.

Which is more than we did we when opened our porch cupboard this morning.  Water is coming in through the telephone cable pipework.  We live at the bottom of a hill and I guess the BT manholes are flooded.  I called BT but couldn’t get through because this particular issue is not listed on their ‘state the problem’ menu.  I gave up after 5 attempts and tried ‘live chat’.  There I discovered it’s actually an OpenReach responsibility - and they only work monday to friday.  

At least it’s not as bad as some folks have to deal with.
