Jane Austen
Off to Launceston for my Hypnotherapy session - although more talking than hypno! But I was delighted to still be in my happy place as I had thought of cancelling earlier in the week as I saw no point trying to conjure up "Things that made me happy" when it was all pretty bleak from where I had been standing! It's very hard to find happiness in ones usual Happy Places when there is a huge overwhelming unhappiness - you just have to hang on in there until that is resolved I had felt. To an extent I think that is true for the big heartaches in life - the trick is not letting smaller ones become big ones which overshadow everything else, keep a perspective! Ahh if only things in life could be simple!
Anyway I left and had a wander round Launceston, may have bought a few things - all essential I assure you! A very nice pair of light grey cashmere wristwarmers/fingerless gloves from www.turtle-doves.co.uk - made from a recycled jumper! I even wore them to bed - sleeping in an unheated attic means it's a bit chilly sitting up in bed and reading!
I love the very unusual church Launceston has, and this view as you walk down the side of it. There were thrushes picking the berries in the enormous Yews- they are safe from the poison in the seeds as they don't chew them apparently! Looking up this fact found that bows were not made from yew as is the common belief! The houses face a long drive and a view out over the countryside and the whole area reminds me of a Jane Austen novel - chatting to a woman exercising her dog who lives in the first house, I found they were built in her time - how good is that!
Home to make a fire, cook dinner and watch Strictly! Another corner of the blanket done - I think I may crochet the rectangle which says "Sunshine" next!
