Lonely Vespa

Well today we have finally arrived at the Chalet in Chamonix where the truly impressive Mt Blanc stands at 4808m. The view from the balcony is spectacular and the drive down was beautiful, speeding through the French countryside to arrive in the Alps. We stopped for a drink in Annecy which is a lovely old town about 50 miles from Cham where like Paris there is an Island in the centre of the village with the river running along both sides.
The weather has been superb with a boiling 34 degrees beating down on us, so we weren't complaining.
After all this travelling we're going to have a lazy day in the sun tomorrow on the balcony and maybe walk down into town fora refreshing swim at the public pool.
