The living room is starting to take shape...

Meanwhile, today's lesson: the path is rarely linear or smooth. Roadblocks will be encountered but we mustn't let them stop us. My dear boy is on a permanent personal development course.

There was some distraction in the form of a mini table tennis tournament - best of 5 games to 11. To make it interesting I suggested we played for a Dairy Milk bar. The boy escalated the bet until we were at ALL confectionery (you name it, it's in there) banned for the loser for exactly 7 days. It was frustratingly close but that's no pudding for me at the stupidly fancy birthday dinner I am going to on Saturday.....I did try and negotiate that by offering a day's extension but I was not successful.

I'm sure there's a lesson in there for me.

And now distraction for me as we head into town to see This House. My expectations are very high.
