Winners!

This is the cafe where I volunteer on a Friday. It's called The Usual Place.

This morning, everybody was very happy, as last night we had won "Best cafe" in the Dumfries and Galloway Life awards. The award was presented at a special dinner last night in the Easterbrook Hall which ended after midnight and some of the staff and trainees had not had much sleep..

It was - 7°c when I left home this morning and it was difficult to shift the ice from my windscreen. I'm writing this while on a bus travelling up to Galashiels - Samba Sisters are playing at a March to "Reclaim the Night". Brrrrr! The organizers have promised hot soup afterwards :-)
