Great weather to fly a kite

This afternoon we joined with C and her boys and some of the Auckland-based cousins to share the cake she made for Young L's birthday (see the extra). On the way back to Grey Lynn, I saw the kite surfers enjoying the strong winds they could access in the harbour out from Eric Armishaw Park. This fellow was generating a lot more speed than most of the others, and each eastward beat he jumped up for a brief flight above the waves. My photo shows him heading westwards.
