Good Crieff!
A very fine day out indeed, as guests at the Crieff Highland Gathering. I'm ashamed to say I've never been to a Highland Games before, so enjoyed it with that sense of newness and wonder you get on these occasions, mixed in with lots of newbie questions.
Spent lots of time watching the caber tossing (quiet at the back!) - very impressive stuff - and the dancing was very fleet of foot. But two big issues of the day - first, since when did cycling become a traditional Highland game? Clans racing around Glen Velodrome I presume?
Secondly, who knew that I'd become such a fan of the Tug o' War? Loved it - the tactics, the strength, the brute power of it - fab!
