A strange glow in the sky
A much better day. With snow on the tops progress was a bit slow and you could sink in up to your knees at times, and lose the path. It was cold, empty and starkly beautiful up on High Pike and Carrock fell. And those two take us to halfway through the list of Wainwrights at 107.
Snow down my boots meant that I walked down with cold squelchy feet, nothing a hot bath and a pint of Loweswater Gold won't put right. Our friends G and P are up here now staying nearby, so we are going to meet them at the pub later.
