Dune bashing
We didn't need to break camp till 11am so we had a walk on the beach which took about 10 minutes to reach from our camp on the dunes. Although I'd had a swim at our first beach camp, some of the group said there was quite an undertow on this one, so I just paddled. there was quite a bit of debris washed up, but no dead fish or turtles which we'd seen on the beach by our lunch stop yesterday.
We headed off north on tracks through the desert. The drivers showed off their skill by making their landcruisers spin about at speed on on the sand. Our lovely driver Yacoub chose not to partake in the fun, explaining that the vehicle was his own, not a company one. He had the last laugh, as the two other drivers both had punctures which lost us an hour. When we finally got to the place to camp there were a few vehicles dune bashing so one of the drivers gave those of us who wanted, a go as screaming up the steep dune and then dashing down. I have to admit it was great fun and we had several goes.
The blip shows our tent, and the vehicle at the top of the dune doing the run we did.
