Beywar

We're getting to know a new refugee family near us. There's a lot of them living in an unfinished building. This month old baby is called Beywar which means "Without Country" : (

The children did loom bands with some girls whose dad was taken over 2 years ago by militia and they've no idea if he's dead or alive. His wife and 5 young children are being cared for by his brother.

The men left in the family have never been to school and cannot read. They got away with it in the village as they were all farmers but now they've been thrown into town life and are finding their illiteracy to be a major handicap. Bizarrely, the 6 sisters in the family went to school but the boys had to stay at home and work the land.
