Lower Town
A beautiful morning, cloud less sky, frost in the valley and a high tide. I do not believe you can find a better place to take photographs on a Sunday morning than Lower Town . The low lying winter sun leaves deep shadows as well as lighting the far side of the valley with its winter hue .
Unfortunately this idilic scene is under serious threat from global warming. The bottom of the village already floods during the spring tides and this is only going to get worse. If the worse case scenario happens then the cottages in the photograph will be uninhabitable and much of the village will be abandoned. A detailed study has been produced regarding the effect on the Pembrokeshire coast line of global warming and the result was that Lower Town cannot be protected from rising tide levels . This is a depressing scenario so places like Lower Town should be enjoyed now before they disappear
