Life in Newburgh on Ythan

The Loneliness of the Long Distance Beach Comber

Talpa III spent the last day of his school holidays with the old folks. The weather was kind and so we spent a few hours searching the strand-line for whatever the last tide might have deposited.
A good day was spoiled a few minutes after this photograph was taken. Two big hounds, I think they were Weimaraners, came bounding up and, totally unprovoked, one of them bit the poor lad on his upper arm. Luckily the wound was fairly minor but I dread to think what could so easily have happened.
It's bad enough having dogs crapping all over the beach and dunes but having your grandchildren bitten is quite beyond the pale.
