Wider View?

A bit of a slower day after all the excitement of yesterday and after doing a presentation of “Contemplative Photography” to his photo group The Boss got all contemplative himself  and laid on the lakefront to get this image which did cause me some concern as I hadn’t had dinner yet.

This is The Boss’s wide angle lens. 18 mm (in 35 mm talk). He thinks it is cute that the photographic world still measures stuff with reference to a format that was used for film if anyone can actually remember that stuff. "Full Frame" for instance does this too and if you think about it why on earth would you reference something to a standard that's long gone? 


Contrary to popular thought a wide angle lens is not for getting more in your picture but rather for getting the different perspective of a very close and different point of view.  I have tried it on my grub dish and the result is not pretty….Right!
