Oops!

I consider myself very lucky not to have been awakened this morning by a barrage of hummie beaks tapping on my bedroom window.  It's gotten so cold here so fast that I wasn't prepared for things freezing so I neglected to bring the feeder in last night.  You can bet that I rectified the situation quickly and had their morning meal ready very quickly.  The feeder is now in for the night since the temperature has dropped into the 20s.

The feeder wasn't the only thing frozen this morning.  I live only a few feet from an estuary off Lake Whatcom and when I looked out the window this morning I was surprised to see it was frozen.   At least the top couple of inches were frozen and it was odd seeing no moving water.  I thought "wow, what neat blip.  Frozen water!" and then realized that a still picture would be a lousy indication that moving water had frozen.  I believe I saved myself some embarrassment there.
