Whiskered Tern(Chlidonias hybridus)

The largest of the Marsh Terns, this Whiskered Tern has a thick beak and wide wings, this bird is in its first winter, it will eventually have redder legs and beak, a black cap and a blackish belly. A very pretty bird that was posed beautifully on the lagoon with a beautiful reflection in the still water. How do these birds keep their whites so white!
