Off we go!!!

Opening night ... oh my life.

Katie started the day with the final performance of the school production. I took her back with me then as there wasn't much point in leaving her for the hour it would have been. I had a piano lesson so she curled up on B's sofa and had a good sleep. After a quick but big lunch I packed her up and we headed to the theatre. It's hard to believe today is here already. That after all these months they open tonight and the run begins.

The dress rehearsal was chaotic, though the children danced incredibly. There were a couple of issues to sort - including removing Katie from one scene because she is absolutely, to-her-core petrified of the ugly sisters. Her whole little body lifted when that was decided. She was a different child.

The evening came (after high speed tea from the onsite stalls).  Bloody amazing. The kids were on fire. It was a packed house. They nailed their dances, including all their changes. They did their quick changes brilliantly, they behaved fabulous. And they were seriously gorgeous. Katie's grin lit her entire face every single second on stage. Very.Very.Proud mama moment.
