Carnforth Station

Today's the day .......................... to hang about

Business was slow today at the Carnforth Station Heritage Centre.

Anyone with any sense would have stayed put at home today, in front of a nice fire with a cup of tea and a good book.  Those that did venture out probably had to fight with the masses doing their Christmas shopping.  Hardly anyone was interested in finding out about the Age of Steam on the Railways - or the film 'Brief Encounter'.

So my fellow volunteers and I had little to do but sit around and chat with each other.  But as they were both 'puffernuts', with many a steamy tale to tell - that was no hardship ...........................
