Hi Chair.
Lil having her breakfast this morning in her brand new high chair. Brand new to us but well used by G's brother's family and their three girls. We've been lucky enough to receive a lot of baby bits and bobs from friends and relatives. I shudder to think how poor we'd be had we bought everything new ourselves!
Lil's breakfast of choice today was rice with peach and banana. I'd love to say it was made from scratch but it's a packet mix. Her lunch, however, was puréed carrot mixed with sweet potato followed up by some apple and pear. She's a bit of a fruit fan and could eat the sweet stuff until it's coming out of her ears. I discovered that she loves prunes and in my excitement I made the mistake of giving it to her three days in a row. The resulting nappies soon taught me that her exposure to them should be a bit more limited! Carrot's proving a bit more challenging. She's not a great fan and tends to signal her disapproval by blowing raspberries into her spoon and spraying it everywhere! I'm going to try her on a lentil/carrot/sweet potato mix for dinner but I'm already envisaging a lentil shower. I don't really mind but I do find it a bit of a waste spending ages peeling, chopping, steaming and blending her food only for most of it to end up in my hair. Part of the joys I suppose!
I'm using Annabel Karmel's recipe book for her foods and I'll have to go on a wee trip to the shops tomorrow so that I can pick up some new foods for her to try. Think I'll work in some broccoli, butternut squash, courgette and cauliflower. I'd quite like her to start enjoying veg as much as she does fruit. However, I guess as long as she isn't munching down on Greggs' sausage rolls every day then she's not doing too badly!
