And I hesitate to use the American term for it - there are ladies present after all.

Mazda went today. Poor chap came all the way from Glossop to collect it - took him about 5 hours on the train and now he has a 3 hour drive home. Hope the journey is trouble free and the good news is that I was able to raise £670 for cancer research - I'm rather chuffed.

I was listening to the news the other day and there was some general moaning due to the fact that some sports, badminton for example, have had all of their olympic funding cut as there is not enough in the pot to support sports at which we as a nation do not excel, i.e. cannot hope to turn that funding into medals, preferably gold ones. Do you know how much the funding is? £350 million! Enough money to feed a considerable percentage of the world's starving children but no, the money is used so that we can win more medals than anyone else. That's willy waving on a grand and obnoxious scale - I fear we have lost the spirit of the olympics which is surely to just rock up and do your best.
