A Winter's Tale
A glorious sunny day. I lay in bed first thing with the window open, the fresh air drifting in as I listend to the birds singing. After a swift visit to the supermarket, I had some lunch and went out for a walk along the lanes. It was glorious. There is so much to see in the landscape and the hedgerows - ferns, mosses, big old trees with multiple trunks and holes through them so you can see the sky above! I went via the allotment which seemed fine although a new mole hill has appeared and the parsnips need harvesting. I finished coming home via the old railway line where I picked up a few more Bramley apples from one of the houses which has them in a bucket outside for people to help themselves to. I love the summer but winter days like this are such a pleasure. As I walked at dusk this evening, the sky was pink and a low mist was forming over the fields. The moon was high in the hazy sky and the pine trees formed tall silhouettes. The air was cool and clear.
