Fusion....or not!

When the insurance firm Sun Alliance redeveloped North Street in Horsham town centre ( ~26 years ago) the old Victorian St Mark's church was one of the casualties.
This beautiful Victorian building was founded in 1841, almost entirely rebuilt in 1871 and extended in 1888, sporting beautiful stained glass windows by Kempe and Mayer. During the redevelopment it was demolished apart from the tower, which has been left sitting alone and somewhat out of place in a sea of very unattractive modern architecture.
St Mark's church has been re-built a mile or so out of town, an equally unattractive building in my opinion......and Sun Alliance?  long gone ! some of the redevelopment turned into flats......soo sad!
Well done Matt Terry on winning the X factor, you have been my winner all along :-)
