to Rock

I spent time in an earlier life looking at rocks when I trained as a geologist.

The weather was quite bright with a fresh breeze.  A most suitable time to climb to the summit of Cronk Sumark (otherwise Primrose Hill) in the North of the Island with my elder grand-daughter.

So here you see us trying to unravel a natural glaciated landform  from a cutting that might have been made around the time of the Norse invaders.  After a few trials with a prismatic compass I can now safely say that one is looking due North....
