Happy KFC Christmas...
Backblip
Alan was a good bit brighter today but woke up with facial swelling, particularly his right cheek. David was concerned to was an abscess on a tooth so alerted the nurses. They said they would get someone from Oral/Maxillofacial to have a look.
Woman came and had a look at his teeth (as best she could) and thought they looked ok but she's going to discus it with the Oral/Maxillofacial Consultant.
Poor boy! It would be just his luck to have a dental abscess on top of everything else!
At tea time David and I decided we couldn't face any more hospital food and ventured out to find something more sophisticated. We settled on KFC! :-)
After being held up in the drive through by the car in front, who appeared to be buying for a party of 20, by the time we got ours and parked in the Premier Inn car park opposite to eat it, it was stone cold. Still, it gave us a short break away from the hospital and a chance to talk a little about what has happened. We're like ships that pass in the night at the moment as D is staying at the hospital with Alan then I go in and let him home for a wee while.
Back to the hospital to say night night to a sleepy Alan then Christine dropped me off.
Although the worst is (hopefully) behind us, anxiety levels are still high and it's exhausting.
