A time for everything

Reflections on a grey day

Saturday
After quite a decent spell of frosty mornings followed by clear sunny days, today the fog and grey skies returned. The morning was spent continuing with our Christmas letter, listening to Christmas music. In the afternoon at 3pm we had a practice for our Christmas music for tomorrow's carol service at a home in Montigny sur Loing. I had discovered they were having a Christmas fair in Montigny this weekend, and were serving moules/frites for lunch, so we decided we would leave early, and get some lunch there, and look around the stalls, hopefully buying a few presents. I snapped this shot, the only one I got today, as we were walking round the village (which we're not that familiar with), trying to find the hall where the fair was being held. Unfortunately, as far as the moules/frites went, they sold out the person in front of Roger, so we had to make do with a baguette sandwich! However I did pick up a gift, as well as a couple of things for myself! We had a good practice - most people were able to make it for at least some of the time, and afterwards, we were treated to a glass of champagne and some nibbles before returning home! In the evening I was busy baking a couple of sponge cakes for a fund-raising sale after the nativity play tomorrow morning.
