Sponge cakes

These were the result of last evening's baking, all ready to take to church for a Christmas fund-raising sale after the nativity play this morning. I bought a couple of home-made jams as well as some soup, which we then proceeded to have for lunch - the soup that is, not the jams! In the afternoon I was baking again - this time cranberry and white chocolate chip oatmeal cookies for after the evening carol service when we have mulled wine, mince pies and other goodies! Once I'd got those done, we just had time for a walk in the forest before changing and getting back to church. The carol service was lovely and reasonably well attended. Our church meets in the chapel of a Catholic school, and they let us use the canteen for our refreshments, as they don't want food in the church, so by the time we had helped put everything back as it was before, it was almost 10pm by the time we got home.
