The Wall

Lots of today was spent reading up on Berlin between 1945 & 1989.

First up a 9 mile dawn run in freezing conditions taking in the Brandenburg Gate, the Reichstag and numerous govt buildings. Then it was off to Checkpoint Charlie, what's left of the Wall and a tour of various museums including the Topography of Terrors. Accounts have been published describing the Gestapos reign of fear and torture leading up to and including WW2. Hundreds of thousands of needless deaths.
