FREE. Nothing particularly to be done today; all things needing purchased or made are purchased or made. Most of my stuff is readily-packed for the journey to Parentshire which will probably be on Monday rather than tomorrow. Plenty of time for wandering about semi-aimlessly with only occasional visits to places containing the maddened flocks of shopping-folk. Can't really tell if there are as many of them as usual mostly because I can't tell if it's a normal Saturday or not due to seldom venturing shopwards on normal Saturdays. The only visible sign of credit crunchery which particularly bothered me is the absence of the nice big Beanscene on Commercial Street, closed for "alterations" in the same manner as the branch on Holyrood Road. Places which offer an alternative to booze late into the night are rare and the disappearance of two in the city is a shame. Especially when I was looking forward to a nice coffee and muffin and a sit half-way through my trundlings.
