Light

Andy and I had a wonderful time at Shrewsbury College today. As a very new Chaplaincy Team at that college we were asked to run a carol concert there. We were dubious about the whole thing and didn't have a great deal of time to prepare but we somewhat reluctancy agreed. We arrived to see that two of the most lovely and enthusiastic members of staff had gone all out in their preparations, printing hundreds of carol sheets and supplying mass amounts of mince pies to sell for a local charity. A little while later over two hundred people were in the hall including most of the staff and the Principal of the colleges group. Andy led the music like the superstar that he is and I managed to do the talk with uncharacteristically shaky legs (I don't think anyone noticed). Such an absolute privilege to be a part of and probably a highlight of my SYFC career. I just received an email from the member of staff saying that we wouldn't believe how many comments he'd had from staff and students saying how much they enjoyed it :-D

I had a little walk later and the most stunning light was shining through St Alkmund's Church. Glorious.

Spontaneous day off tomorrow to use up some leave. I've got some bacon in.
