Secret Santa!

We're taking a 'Secret Santa' gift.....to several of our Christmas celebrations.......an agreed €10 maximum to be spent on the gift
The idea is that everyone takes an anonymous gift ......and everyone at the party receives one gift......sometimes Santa comes with his sack, and an Elf to help!

We used to arrange Secret Santas, at our school, so that every pupil received a gift....without stretching families' finances to the limit!
Is this a Spanish only tradition?.....or does it happen elsewhere, too?
