Road or River

We had another terrific rainstorm this afternoon. From broken sunshine to full-on, torrential downpour in under ten minutes. The storms here are incredible. For some reason today's storm flooded the road to our house. Normally there is a 3 cm rock curb outside our front door, but today the street was completely filled with reddish-brown water from the hills to the east. Of course traffic still flowed (pun intended) without much interruption. I briefly considered getting my kayak out and taking on the rapids at the bottom of our street, but realized I would have to hike back to the house in the river.
