Changing Cityscape
had a meeting in Birmingham this afternoon so I was a little ahead of time and popped to the German Market in Chamberlain Square. The old 'New" Library is now demolished and boarding erected around what will be a building site for the next two years. Birmingham is now competing with London with the number of cranes dancing across the sky, a sure sign of regeneration.
I managed to get a vantage point by standing on the top step of the entrance to the museum and art gallery. You can see the new "New" Library in the distance.
I like to capture these scenes and this is something that Blipfoto is very good at, providing an archive for future generations. This view will only be here for a few short months, before the rebuilding takes shape and this view will be hidden again until the next new development takes place.
