A 'Belly' Good time!

A dismally wet day this morning, giving way to a clearer, if still overcast, day.

Today, I was invited to join a group of Ladies to some classes from a semi-professional Belly Dancer who is staying in Almerimar until March.(pictured).   The classes were held in one of the Ladies' underground garage, which tend to be quite huge.

I confess to not knowing what to expect except shaking it all about!   But it appears there is more to it than that.   We started off with our posture, getting that right and comfortable was a challenge as we all tend to stoop, then some warm up exercises.

Then onto the moves.   Finding our hip bones was more of a challenge than anyone expected, but eventually locating them we started our pelvic circles!   Much laughter when we had to progress round in a circle. By the time we had then done a few rounds of Grapevine we were all warmed up.   Then onto the Shimmy!   What a laugh.

We all thoroughly enjoyed it and are back next week.   She has assured us that, in six weeks time, we will have mastered a dance!   Of course, we all scoffed at that!!

Great fun and at the same time hard work!
