Waldmusik
This is why I made a visit to the china dept at KaDeWe on Thursday in the West End of Berlin.
Many years ago a friend, who lived in Germany at the time, bought me one of these bells for my 40th birthday as it had the date of the year on. (Yes it was very many years ago)
I loved it but didn't think any more about them until visiting my son, years later in 2006 , when he was based in Hameln and I saw one in a shop there and got it as a souvenir. I bought another on a further visit in 2009 so decided it would be nice to get one on this visit to Berlin. My other bells are glass but to my dismay they were sold out of the Krystalglocke and only had the porcelain ones left.
We went to the food dept before making a decision but thinking it over I thought the theme rather appropriate as we had walked through the extensive Tiergarten woods to get there and the theme of the bell is Waldmusik, woodland music or, their translation, Forest Serenade.
So here I have my first porcelain Hutschenreuther Christmas bell. A nice little souvenir of my trip. They are to hang on the tree but I have never dared with the glass ones so we will see.
