Painted Lady

I didn't need to go to Lenape today because a flittering flock of ten Painted Ladies made their appearance just as I was heading out the door. I think they must have been reading my journal; how else would they know that I dead headed my butterfly bush just for them? These small butterflies will travel over a thousand miles during their lifetime and that's a lot of traveling. I'm so glad they detoured for a bite to eat and as I write this (three hours later) they are still here.
