Malmaison
We were visiting Leith to participate in a birthday lunch at Malmaison. Lunch is booked for 12:15 so we are a little early. Time for a celebratory bottle of bubbles before lunch. As it turned out the dining room was not ready by 12:15 so we had even more time than we expected.
A pleasant lunch was followed by the drive back to Aberdeen, where we arrived at about 6:00pm.
Not sure about the history of the building now hosting Malmaison, it may have been offices at some point in the past.
I subsequently found this on Wikipedia:-
Built in 1883 and a former seaman’s mission and at one point a brothel, the Edinburgh Malmaison in Leith was the first hotel to open when Malmaison was established in 1994. It is a category B listed building overlooking Leith docks and has 100 rooms and suites.
