White Forest

Walking a little further through our local park, beyond the hockey pitches I showed last Friday, we come quite soon on open countryside.

Through a gap in a hedge, we look across fields of golden wheat, a little church, and so on.. But in the distance, there is a small wood, and the trees look almost as though they are in blossom. They're not: the leaves must be silvery underneath, and when the wind blows in a special way and the sun shines in the right direction, we get this illusion. But it does look quite dramatic, especially as clouds move to allow bright sun to shift across the wood.

I took another 'photo at wider angle (5.7 mm as against 17.1 mm for the Blipfoto: equivalents for 35 mm camera of 35 mm and 105 mm), to show the context of the main picture.

By the way, it's the last day of the Grand Masters Hockey World Cup tomorrow. I think it was the over '70s playing this afternoon.
