I rang the garage today to see when Claire's car would be ready, to be told that it had been ready for days. They'd forgotten to tell me.
After exchanging cars in Musselburgh, I met Ian for lunch in town. We went to the Red Box noodle bar on West Nicholson St and then grabbed coffee from the police box in George Square. Despite the freezing wind, we decided to drink them in the garden.
The Appleton tower has been reclad. It's still pale grey, but it's a lot more presentable than it has been for years. I've got a feeling that they've done this before, because it was already scabby when I had lectures there in the 80s. Anyway, there's a few more years in it now.
