Midwinter's Day
Today was the solstice, in the northern hemisphere the winter solstice, and at 10:44 this morning the earth passed the point of maximum tilt from the sun. From tomorrow the days lengthen.
We were out this evening delivering Labour Party Christmas cards for HarlingDarling's brother, and walking bramble at the same time. As we passed Witton Country Park the sun had just set. The sky was a lovely colour and the trees a sharp silhouette.
I hope you all enjoyed the shortest day of the year. Next up is Christmas, in case you hadn't noticed.
