Diary of an Edinburgher

Apple Shop revisited...

A routine blood test today, then I jumped clambered on the bus and went down town on a mission. I was returning, reluctantly, the new toy I bought from the Apple Shop on Saturday. It was a three axis gimbal for 'buttery smooth' filming using an iPhone. (I used to make lots of movies when I was a tech teacher). It was a wonderful piece of kit, but I felt I couldn't justify the expense.

No problem returning it, and I found a rather good little thingie which has a handle and grips the phone, so that there is no fear of dropping it...

I fitted the contraption on to the phone in a cafe, then had a wander in the Winter Wonderland. The stalls and rides have had a very good time this year - lots of sunny dry days and plenty of people, but I fear it's all going downhill, as Storm Barbara is heading our way now...

The iPhone7(Plus) camera is great, and with the new grip, it makes taking photos with the phone fun and SAFE!

For the first time this winter it was bloomin' cold! Back home, fire on, and Mary popped round for a cuppa and a catch up. Mary was my right-hand woman in my last year of teaching. It would have been a half year, if she had not been with me to keep me going.

Archie barked rather more than usual when she arrived, possibly because he'd never seen a poncho (with tassels) before. But by the end of the afternoon, he was snoozing in Mary's lap.

I had to take the obligatory Star Flyer shot, and an extra shot of a poor cold lady in charge of a not-very-exciting, but very colourful, stall.
