Woeful Wednesday
The last day of a holiday is always a sad day, the end of the adventure and the return to normality, however the feeling of sadness becomes magnified when you are leaving family to return home.
We have had an absolutely fantastic and incredible three weeks, every day has been filled with fun, love and laughter. Thanks to Janet and John we have managed to cram more into these three weeks than we could ever have dreamed of if it makes sense we are returning home tired yet refreshed, relaxed and happy.
To put some figures to it, I estimate that;
We have been to 1 Wedding
We have been to 2 Wedding Receptions
We will have travelled well over 17,000 miles
We have visited 4 US states
We have been 282ft below sea level
We have been over 7,000 above sea level
We have travelled back 11 time zones (hours)
We will have travelled forward 11 time zones (hours)
We will have had 4 flights
We will have travelled in 11 different vehicles (not counting Disney's)
We have had 21 days of sunshine
The lowest temperature has been 76*F (night)
The hottest temperature has been 126*F
Our last day has been spent packing, a lot more than we brought with us, last minute shopping for sweets and going out for our last meal of the holiday.
John went for a job interview this afternoon, we are waiting to hear the outcome, Janet has been to work so we amused ourselves with a quick look through some of the 1,000 photographs we have taken since August 02nd.
The meal was at the 'Pomona Mining Company' for various starters, salad, steak, beer and coffee.
The photo shows Clare and John looking at the Falmouth news on the internet this evening
So now it's to bed before the journey out to the airport, LAX, tomorrow lunch time and our flight at 5pm local. We should arrive back in Heathrow around midday before the journey back to Cornwall in the afternoon.
I bet it will be raining!!!
