Erratic Rock
Today we visited "Erratic Rock," a roadside "attraction" I've not visited since I was 12. Just a couple miles from my mother's house, this rock was deposited out of a glacier during the Great Missoula Flood about 15,000 B.C. It is now on the top of a hill surrounded by vineyards. When I was a kid they were wheat and grass fields and the trail was unpaved, but otherwise the rock appears unchanged.
A flock of geese and some grape vines were contenders for today's shot, but in the end I went with the rock. Long may it lay there.
